POLAR BEAR RIDE JAN 14TH 2009

After several weeks of snow and frigid temperatures we were ready for a ride. Our first group ride of the year. It was around 40degrees when we started the sun was out and things were looking good.

Tim is plotting today's route down Hwy 101 in his GPS... That will guarantee that we will get turned around at least 3 times!

Our destination... The Tillamook Cheese Factory for Lunch...And a pretty good one I might add. Not very crowded this time of the year.

While having Lunch we ran into Doug Harrod who lives in Jewell. Doug was in his Mazda Convertible..

VADER RIDE OCTOBER 2008

Well here we are getting together out our main email ride starting point... The Coffee Shack in the Red Lion parking lot in Astoria.

Those on the ride today will be Jim S. Jim T. Ann, Gene, William, Tim, Don S., Vickie and Me (Doug L.)

The ride today is going to take us over the Astoria Bridge to Washington Hwy 4. Then we will get on Hwy 101 To Raymond. From Raymond we will turn East on Hwy 6 and go through Pe Ell. We will turn onto Pe Ell Mcdonald Road and head for our lunch stop at the Vader Store.

First Stop McDonald's in Raymond for coffee...

The Fall Colors are awesome! We are heading into the sun so the fall colors are not quite as brilliant as they would be in direct sunlight but we will take what we can get.

Here we are heading for home. We Will take Hwy 411 to Delameter Rd. to Hwy 4. We will travel along the Washington side of the Columbia River and take the Ferry from Cathlamet to Westport Or and Hwy 30.

Coming up on a good view of the Columbia River as we travel along Hwy 4.

We make it to the Ferry with 4 minutes to spare!

The ride does not end here but the pictures do... We arrive in Westport and take Hwy 30 home.. What a great ride..
